Ami is the managing attorney at Gehi & Associates. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the State University of New York in Binghamton and her Juris Doctorate at St. John’s University School of Law, where she was the President of the Criminal Law Society and the Editor-in-Chief of the law school newspaper.
She represents clients on various immigration matters with an extreme focus on asylum cases. She also has an extensive background in criminal defense, representing those charged with crimes such as DWI, drug offenses, larceny, domestic violence, sex offenses, robbery, burglary, arson, fraud, and assault.
Before joining Gehi & Associates, Ami was an attorney in private practice and a volunteer at the Innocence Project. She worked on wrongful conviction cases helping prisoners gain access to post-conviction DNA testing.
She is admitted to the Bar in New York and has taught courses on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
